Fox News or the Las Vegas Review Journal
I just came across the LVJournal Review today. It has always been apparent that the Las Vegas Review-Journal is a conservative newspaper. Viewed through a political lens the RJ would be Republican; the Las Vegas Sun would be Democratic. Sort of live comparing Fox News with MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.
LVJournal Review is taking the LV Review-Journal to task for its slanted news reporting.
Today’s LVJournal Review takes on today’s issue of the Review-Journal. I don’t know if the LVJR will cover every issue of the LVRJ or not, but it appears that may be the case.
In any event a daily check of LVJR will help put the LVRJ into perspective.
I recommend you take a look at the LVJR and bookmark it for daily perusal.
Of further note and interest is the fact you can also become a fan of LVJR on Facebook and follow it on Twitter.
I’ve signed up for both Facebook and Twitter and bookmarked the LVJR for my own daily consulting.

PCCC at 79,000 petition signatures for Senator Reid
At the end of last week, we got a national boost for our petition asking Senator Harry Reid to show leadership and make sure that Democratic senators don’t help Republicans block a vote on health care.
Rachel Maddow showed our website on national TV and reported that we gathered 29,000 petition signatures in less than a day.
We’re now at 79,000 — very close to our goal of 80,000 before we deliver the petition to Reid this week. Can you forward this email to friends and ask them to add their name? Here’s the petition link (and Maddow video).
Thanks to everyone who already emailed friends — that added big momentum! Please do remind them that if they haven’t signed the petition yet, now’s the time to pressure Reid.
We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to pass a public health insurance option. Harry Reid needs to show leadership and tell senators like Joe Lieberman that it’s unacceptable to side with Republicans on basic procedural things like allowing or denying a vote.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.

P.S. You can also share the petition on Facebook here.

Maddow: Whip It
Rachel Maddow broke some amazing news last night on MSNBC:
“Two major powerbrokers on the left…are encouraging a Senate strategy in which the leadership would revoke chairmanships and other leadership positions from any Democrat who sides with a Republican filibuster to block a vote on health reform.”
Click here to sign a petition to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in support of this idea.
We’ll deliver the petition signatures to Harry Reid next week after a big news conference in front of the Senate.
What does this proposal mean? In general, it means Democrats need to be Democrats!
Republicans are planning to use the Senate “filibuster” procedure to block a vote on health care reform. But if all Senate Democrats stick together, a clean up-or-down vote will take place.
This means 51 votes — not “60 votes” — would be needed to pass reform. And winning a public health insurance option would be very likely.
It’s critical that Harry Reid sees immediate support for this idea — please sign the petition tonight and tell your friends.
Which senators would feel pressure from this proposal? All the senators who are siding with the insurance companies and opposing the public option: Max Baucus (D-MT), Kent Conrad (D-ND), Joe Lieberman (I-CT), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) are some examples.
Let’s send a clear message: It’s not OK for Democratic senators to join with Republicans to block a vote on health care. Period.
Please click here sign the petition today — and then tell your friends.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
