DA Bob Beckett
The office of District Attorney is one of the most important county offices in existence. One for which voters should look for experienced, level headed, mature and competent candidates to fill.
Mr. Beckett is a Republican who has been the District Attorney of Nye County since 1995. His announced opponent in the race is Mr. Ron Kent, former Chief Civil Deputy District Attorney of the Nye County District Attorney’s office.

Bob Beckett had done great things with the DA’s office since his election in 1995. He is a human being and none of us humans are perfect. Look at his track record. Be a responsible voter and look at ALL candidates records, not just their lip service. Mr. Beckett has taken responsibility for the good and the bad in his office, he has proven he is honest and will not hide when he is wrong. Let’s keep honesty as a top priority! We have enough liers in politics. Thank you Mr. Beckett for your hard work, your dedication and continued efforts to keep the DA’s office moving forward.
Well thank goodness the citizens of Nye County have the “honest” Bob Beckett to serve them! …Wait…what’s that you say? The criminal justice system is a PUBLIC process? Hmmm…so Mr. Beckett had no choice but to be open and honest regarding his criminal indiscretions. Hardly something to celebrate.
Are you really suggesting that the citizens of Nye County have to choose between a lying politician or a politician who drinks and drives but is at least “honest” about his activities? I disagree. I’ll take the honest, law abiding candidates over the “honest” Mr. Beckett any day.
And yes humans make mistakes, however, most people’s “mistakes” do not endanger innocent lives. As a public servant, Mr. Beckett put at risk the very lives he took an oath to protect and serve. In my book that is unforgivable and no amount of “honesty” will convince me to support Bob Beckett. The people of Nye County deserve more.
Just look at each candidates accomplishments. Oh and Chelsay, remember that YOU refused someone forgiveness when you want someone to forgive you. Oh but wait-you are perfect. Try just once to actually vote based on all the candidates proven accomplishments and failures. Not just their lip service. I would bet you voted for Obama didn’t you?
