Karl Rove
My jaw dropped when I saw the notice from Twitter that Karl Rove was following me. I thought “You must have hit the big time somehow.” Then, “Why would Karl Rove follow me?”
I still don’t know why he is but he is. Maybe he likes to read this blog, though I can’t imagine he would find much on it he would like.
Anybody got any theories?

When we were on internet television last year we were about to be picked up by a big affiliate and then there was a month of blackout … lately even the internet radio show has been experiencing technical difficulties … I really don’t think I’m paranoid but I do think that we who are political advocates are all being watched through various means and when it is suitable to the opposition (and we know there’s a lot of that here in Nye county on both sides of the aisle) some things tend to go a little haywire … I’ll have to check my twitter account now and see if he’s following me too … on the other hand maybe just maybe you’re making a name for yourself Jack =)
I doubt I’m being followed on Twitter by Karl Rove because the Nye-Gateway to Nevada’s Rurals has become nationally known. More likely the Twitter follow was because someone on his staff did it. Rove has a few thousand followers to his Twitter account. The likelihood he, personally, spotted my blog or even a Tweet is a bit much for me to swallow. Nonetheless I thought it worthy enough to post about it.
As to being monitored by various groups for whatever reason, you are right. The Nye-Gateway blog has been monitored by the United States Senate’s Sergeant at Arms and followed by a number of monitors in the Washington, D.C. area. I confirmed that via an independent business that monitors blogs and websites and provides information about where the blog/website is being accessed from with the IP address, etc. I haven’t worried about it because so long as one responsibly maintains their blog or website it isn’t likely the FBI will come knocking at your door.

Nope … it didn’t post dammit … okay nevermind the phone call … I believe I’ll have to check my twitter account to see if he’s following me too however … during the time I had an internet television show we were about to be picked up by a major affiliate and the station experienced a month of blackout … now with the internet radio show since we’re finally picking up a much bigger audience the station is experiencing more technical difficulities … I believe as political activists we’re all being watched in some form or another and I try to keep a high profile because of it … on the other hand maybe you’re just getting popular Jack =)

Jack, I’m not surprised that you are being followed. Even though I don’t read all of your material, I find that you come up with some pretty good stuff that others can’t seem to find and they want to mimic you as much as they can without actually admitting it. Keep up the good work and Karl Rove will thank you for making his work easier.

Reply@M.Johnson … huh? Jack comes up with some great stuff about state and local news however … who on earth would want Karl Rove to thank them for ANYTHING? Rove should be in jail.
