We pause for a commercial break…
As some of you know I publish a weekly Nye-Gateway to Nevada’s Rurals Newsletter via an e-mail. It goes out to 440 e-mail addresses each week (usually Saturdays).
A couple of days ago a lady told me she enjoys getting the newsletter each week but that the print size was so small she had a difficult time reading it. People, like me, that writes things on blogs or in information-type newsletters, hope that people actually read them. Else there is no point in spending the effort writing them.
I sincerely appreciate feedback, of course, from readers. Anything that a reader encounters that affects their ability to read what is written I want to correct. I want readers to be able to read this stuff as easily and as comfortably as I can possibly make it.
I have increased the size of the print (font) in next Saturday’s Newsletter so it should be easier to read. If that fails to work I’ll increase it again.
Let me provide a little more help in this regard. It should be of benefit to readers.
The Newsletter goes out via e-mail and, rather than including an attached file to the e-mailed Newsletter, which impedes speed on opening the attachment, particularly for readers on dial-up, their is a link from the e-mail to a website upon which the Newsletter sits, and it is on that website that you can read the newsletter. That website is called Scribd.
When you arrive at the Newsletter on Scribd scroll down a little until you come to the end of the page. You will see notations there. The first notation says “View Mode.” Adjacent to that notation is a small rectangular box which will probably have the word “Scroll” in it. Scroll means you can scroll down and read each page of the newsletter, one page right on top of the other.
The second notation, just a bit further to the right says “Zoom.” Adjacent to the word Zoom is a – and a +. If you click the – it will make the print (font) smaller. If you click the + it will make the print (font) larger (and easier to read). The more times you click the + the larger the print (font) becomes.
Also you can make the newsletter fill your computer screen by using the “Fullscreen” feature at the top of the page. That will help you read it all. When you are finished click “Exit Fullscreen” at the top of the page.
I hope that is of assistance to you who read it.
While I’m on the subject of the Newsletter, let me invite new readers of the Newsletter. If you wish to receive it just send an e-mail to featheriver@hughes.net with the word “subscribe” in either the subject or the body of you email and your name and I will add you e-mail Newsletter list.
Now, back to the regular broadcast…
