And she may well be right. The American voters gave the Democratic Party control of Congress and the White House, largely on the promise of healthcare reform.
But now, instead of “Yes, we can” we’re looking at a Democratic Party in Washington cowering with “No, we can’t.”
So, what do we Americans do? The Democratic Party isn’t willing to get it done. The Republican Party is opposed to it. Where does that leave us?
Out in the cold. Except, we still have our vote. The only thing I know we can do is to start thinking independently of party affiliation. We have 2010 elections coming up. Look for the candidates that will do what we tell them to do, and vote for that candidate, whether the candidate is a Democrat, Republican, Independent, or even Socialist. Cull out all those Congressional naysayers. Let them leave Congress and take those corporate lobbying positions they seem to covet. Drop them like a hot potato. Force Congress to become representative of people, not corporations.
