Obama’s Campaign to Reorganize Nye Dems
Hello Nevada!
For those who haven’t heard, Organizing for America is now on the ground in Nevada. Over the coming weeks, we will be focused on building our organization to provide support for the President’s legislative agenda, and to create a powerful, grassroots organization statewide. We will be traveling across the state to speak with volunteers and hear your ideas for how we can best organize in Nevada, but we need to start working right away.
We will be using a similar volunteer structure to the General Election campaign – building teams to organize in every neighborhood – and need leaders to begin (re)building networks immediately.
There will be several levels of involvement for volunteer leaders:
Community Organizers will help oversee an Assembly District, committing 10-15 hours per week to build neighborhood teams, plan events and manage volunteers.
Neighborhood Team Leaders will oversee 10-20 precincts, committing 10 hours per week to build a network of volunteers and plan events.
Neighborhood Captains will work with the team leader and manage a particular facet of the team’s activity (canvass coordinator, data coordinator, phone bank coordinator, event coordinator, e.g.).
If you are interested in participating as a volunteer leader, please reply with the position that interests you. I will then provide you with more information on the next steps.

Help plan the next step:
At these meetings, supporters are able to meet state staff members, hear about some of the lessons learned during the election, and offer thoughts on how best to organize in their communities.
Your ideas will then be used to write state-specific plans for Organizing for America in 2009 and beyond.
