The Republican Party, you remember them, the party of “no.” Remember the Democrats want to reform healthcare so that all Americans can receive it instead of just those who can afford insurance?
Remember how much you were for universal health care during the Presidential campaign? Remember how Hillary Clinton told you about the scars she sustained when she tried to achieve universal health care as First Lady?
And, remember her telling everyone during the Presidential campaign that the only way healthcare reform will be achieved is if the American people demand and insist on it? That is, to maintain the Political Will to get it, else we never will.
Congress is working on that healthcare reform as I write this. Republicans don’t want the reform. They like it better the way it is now, run by insurance companies for insurance companies.

Words That Work, by Dr. Frank Luntz
Republicans have a word-master guru. His name is Dr. Frank Luntz. Dr. Luntz is the author of a book called Words that Work. “It’s not what you say! It’s what you hear.” Luntz tells the members of the Republican Party how to frame their words so that they have the greatest impact on people. It is the same techniques and methods companies use to sell you toothpaste, cars, viagra, beauty products and so on. I’ve read his book. It is very good reading for those interested in how words impact people’s actions.
Luntz is advising the Republicans how to talk to you so you won’t feel that “fierce urgency of now” and come to the conclusion you don’t really want healthcare reform after all.
Go take a look at Think Progress and Politico articles which explains the Republican strategy.
If you truly want healthcare reform now is the time for you to say so. Let your elected representatives know it. The don’t feel that “fierce urgency of now” like you do.
