  1. Featheriver says:

Paul Samuel Reeves is not a typical political candidate. A concert touring technician and crew chief, Paul has traveled and worked in all 48 states in the continental US before settling down and choosing Nevada as his home. Born in Detroit in 1976 to a military attorney and a pediatric nurse, Paul spent his childhood moving around the United States as his father was stationed at different US Coast Guard locations across the country.
Although born in a big city, his family was from rural areas in Michigan and Virginia. During his childhood, his maternal grandmother fostered his love of the outdoors by taking him camping, hiking and backpacking across the country. Other childhood outdoor adventures included learning western and bareback riding in Texas, and backpacking the Appalachian Mountains in the Boy Scouts.
After graduating from high school, Paul enrolled in the Environmental Engineering Program at Michigan Technological University, located in the wilderness of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. While attending Michigan Tech, Paul began volunteering at the student radio station, which exposed him to a new career path. In order to use his talents at math and science in a more creative setting, Paul left Michigan Tech without graduating to pursue a full-time career in stagecraft and technical production.
Paul lives in Pahrump, where he enjoys hiking in the local parks and nature photography. He spends his free time studying martial arts, skydiving, and volunteering as a political activist. When at work, Paul travels across the country, working with union stagehands and electricians, and putting in long hours to build complex projects on a demanding schedule. Whether from a drafting table, behind a keyboard, or hanging from a rope fifty feet over an arena floor, Paul has worked behind the scenes at rock concerts, trade shows, political rallies, corporate conferences and many other events, giving him an intimate view of American culture, business and politics.
The current economic crisis has brought crippling unemployment and record home foreclosures to Nevada, and made obvious the need for a progressive leader to replace the out-of-touch Dean Heller. Because of this critical need, Paul Reeves is making the transition from behind (or above) the stage to front and center on the stage, and running for the congressional district 2 seat in the US House of Representatives in 2010. Paul is committed to giving the citizens of Nevada a representative who is accessible, accountable and puts the needs of his constituents ahead of corporate interests and party agendas.
