Geithner: No Plans to Cap Executive Compensation

Treasury Secretary says government should place “broad constraints” on the incentives that huge pay packages create for executives to take short-term risks, but adds, “I don’t think our government should set caps on compensation.” [Fox News]

“I don’t think our government should set caps on compensation,” Geithner said Monday during an interview at an invitation-only luncheon hosted by Newsweek.

I understand the reason, but sure don’t like it.

Heller opposes modernization, renovation and repair of public schools

Learning about Twitter

I am really impressed with Twitter and its potential uses. I’ve been using Twitter now for almost a month. There is still a lot about it and how to use it that I am still learning. Checking Tweets this afternoon I noted one that promised to teach me something about it. A Twitter for Newbies or Twitter for Dummies. Exactly what I needed. Simple, to the point, about as basic as you can get. So I went there to see what I could learn.

It was a blog, not unlike this, but it is a blog that teaches you things, rather than a rambling political blog like this one I write. The name of the blog is The Tech Advisors-Tech Tips, and Advice. [Read more →]

Water fluoridation bill passes Nevada Senate Finance Committee

Anjeanette Damon, Inside Nevada Politics, of the Reno Gazette Journal, reported today that

The Senate Finance Committee has amended and passed a bill that would require the Truckee Meadows Water Authority to fluoridate Washoe County’s water.

“The bill was opposed by conservative activists who are suspicious of government fluoridation programs,” wrote Damon. The bill now goes to the Senate floor for a vote.

Comments to the Damon report are mixed. One commenter thinks it is a waste of money for something nobody wants or needs. [Read more →]
