New Nye County Democratic Central Committee meet with Meetup

Donkey All four of the newly elected members of the Nye County Democratic Central Committee met with members of the Pahrump Valley Democratic Party Meetup yesterday. It was a well attended meeting.

Much discussion centered around how the new Central Committee plans to move in the future.

democrat They do intend to scrap those horrific bylaws of 2001 and appoint a committee to draft new bylaws. They are amenable to opening up voting to all 9,400+ registered Democrats in Nye County.

It was disclosed that only one Democrat outside Pahrump showed up at last Saturdays election of the new Committee.

The new Committee also intends to use every means possible to establish contact and interactive communication with all 9,400 Democrats in the county as well.

It is encouraging to hear the new Committee is willing to listen to all rank and file members and engage in a dialogue about party concerns.

It is planned to establish precinct captains in each precinct of the county. That is a much needed attribute, though it will be difficult to accomplish.

Overall it appears the new Central Committee will be willing to engage with rank and file Democrats throughout the county. Sounds like they intend to behave in a democratic way with the rank and file.

Of course that means the rank and file Democrats have to take the responsibility of interacting democratically with the Central Committee.

That means rank and file Democrats will have to actually volunteer to aid the new Central Committee in accomplishing these worthy goals.

A good start would be to make a concerted effort to attend the monthly meetings of the Central Committee and show a willingness to help. If we ever hope to turn Nye County blue it is imperative we rank and file members must rise to the challenge. Now is the time for all good Democrats to come to the aid of their party.
