Margery Kay Behrens is a very active Nye County Democrat. I don’t know when she finds time to sleep, she’s everywhere, particularly on Facebook. It is such things as Margery has shown us in her e-mail that I was thinking of last nite when I brought up forming a communications committee at the Nye Central Committee meeting. If all Nye County Democrats engaged in such web sites they’d soon become personally acquainted with each and a cohesive political force in Nye County.
I’ll write more about ways I think the new Central Committee can improve membership and interest in helping the Central Committee in reaching the necessary goals in Nye County to become a political force to be reckoned with.

KUDOS Jack and Margery – good to see you’re putting out sound, solid advice! Now, get the Nye County Charter, By-Laws (and any formal written policies) up on-line and, then, get the membership list of the Nye County Central Committee, and the membership of all Standing (and any Special Committees) on-line WITH their contact info (e-mail and, at least, one telephone number) so you can finally figure out who’s who. Of course, plan on these lists needing “updating” – and don’t wait for anyone to do that for you! Pahrump is small enough you can all take the bull by the horns and get the correct updated information and update the lists!
And don’t take any bull from any one who wants to be a “secret” member – membership is all about being a “representative” and if someone isn’t willing to list an e-mail address or, at least, one phone number – they should be thanked for their service and “retired” or publicly shamed!
Then, change the By-Laws where everyone in any key role is required to list an e-mail address and phone number!
The days of the “secret” clique need to come to an ABRUPT end – it’s time for S.T.A.R. (Sunshine, Transparency, Accountability and Responsibility) folks!
