200,000 California state workers forced to take two days per month unpaid furloughs

The Terminator Governor of California isn’t very popular right now. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger ordered state employees to take two unpaid days off a month in an effort to save California $1.3 billion through June 2010.

180 DMV offices were closed angering many residents. California’s unemployment rate is 9.3%, highest in 15 years. [Review Journal, page 5A]
