Women succeed in fight against pay discrimination

Yesterday, the Senate voted 61-36 — with all 16 female senators voting “yea” — to pass the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which makes it easier for workers to fight pay discrimination. The House also passed the bill earlier this month, and it now heads to President Obama as his first piece of legislation to sign. [Think Progress]

Senator Harry Reid voted yea. Senator John Ensign voted nay. (You should keep a list to remind you in 2010 who to vote for and who not to vote for.) The legislation is enroute to President Obama to sign into law. George Bush vetoed this previously.
